Felicia began her competitive career in December of 2003, competing level five double mini at the Anti-Gravity meet. Felicia won a bronze medal on double mini at the State Championships in 2004. She continued competing level five double mini in 2005. She finished fourth on trampoline and first on double mini at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished fourth on trampoline and fifth on double mini. In August, Felicia competed at her first National Championships on both events.
In the spring of 2006, Felicia competed in level five tumbling, level six double mini and level seven trampoline. She won both trampoline and double mini at States. At Regionals, she won both of the above events and finished fourth on tumbling. In the fall, Felicia began competing level four in artistic gymnastics. She participated in several meets, leading to the State Championships.
Felicia competed level seven double mini, level eight double mini and level eight trampoline in 2007. She won trampoline at the Skysurfers Invitational. At the March Madness meet, she finished third on every event. Felicia finished second on double mini and third on tumbling at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on trampoline and double mini. Felicia won a silver medal on tumbling. At the National Championships, she finished sixth on trampoline! She continued competing level four artistic in the fall. She won the all-around at the Meet at Mavericks and 1st Prelim. At the East Sectional meet, she finished third all-around. Felicia won vault, bars and the all-around at States! Also that fall, Felicia made the National JumpStart Team in tumbling and trampoline.
She only competed trampoline and tumbling in the 2008 season. Felicia competed level nine in all three events. She won tumbling at the Sky Surfers meet and So Cal TTC Invitational. At the State Championships, Felicia swept all three events. She placed first on tumbling, second on double mini and second on trampoline at Regionals. She ended her season at Nationals, placing second in both tumbling and double mini. Felicia was named to the Elite Development Team based on this performance. In the fall, she once again made the National Jumpstart Team in tumbling and trampoline. For artistic, Felicia qualified for the National TOPs "B" Team.
Felicia had a standout year in 2009! She pulled double duty, competing in both artistic, double mini and tumbling during the spring season. She opened the year by winning the all-around as a level six at the Lady Luck Invitational. Felicia competed again in Las Vegas, this time winning a level seven session. Felicia also competed as a level eight that weekend! Later that season, Felicia won the Ready to Peak Invitational.
She competed level ten on double mini and tumbling only in 2009. She won both events at the 2nd Prelim. At the Winter Classic, a national meet, Felicia finished third in tumbling, qualifying for the Final Selection Event. She next took the titles at the 3rd Prelim and 4th Prelim. At States, Felicia again won both events. Felicia again had strong performances at the Elite Challenge. Felicia won both double mini and tumbling at Regionals, making the Region 2 All-Star Team. At JO Nationals, Felicia won double mini and finished fourth on tumbling. She had the same results at the Final Selection Event, qualifying for the USA Team for the World Age Group Game Championships. In Russia, Felicia won silver medals on both events!
So far in 2010 as a level 9 gymnast, Felicia won the all-around title at the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada. She then placed first in the all-around at both SCEGA's California Classic and second in the all-around at the Malibu Coast Challenge. At the Level 9 SoCal State Championships, Felicia won vault and the all-around titles. She also won silver medals on balance beam and floor exercise. She concluded her level 9 season at the Regional Championships where she won the floor exercise title.
Currently, Felicia trains 30 hours a week at West Coast Elite Gymnastics under Antoaneta "Toni" Angelova, Fernando Villa, Anna Guo. Felicia's long-term goal is to receive a full ride scholarship to a Division I school.
Felicia Yukiye Hano was born on August 7, 1998 in San Gabriel, California to Denise and Edward. She has a younger sister, Joy (9). Currently, Felicia is in seventh grade at Jefferson Middle School.
